Virtual Classes

Virtual Classes

Our virtual classes happen via Zoom from my kitchen to yours.  We have been working on it since our first class in March 2020 and have a great system that allows you to see all the action from the comfort of your kitchen.

Adult cooking classes:  virtual cooking that takes you around the world and back within an hour.  These bite-size classes have us all working at the same time to make a main course from start to finish.  Best bit?  You have dinner made at the end.

Teen baking classes:  we ran lots of teen classes in lockdown and are hungry for more.  As everyone is now back in school, this term we are running holiday baking classes.  Perfect for kids who like to dabble in the kitchen in the vacays.

Prices

Virtual classes are great value at just £15 each for 50 mins of live, interactive teaching for the adult classes and £17.50 for 75 mins in the teen classes.  For both, this includes a great e-booklet with your recipes, a helpful alternative ingredients list (so you can stay in control of allergies and preferences) and a whole load of tips.

You only need to buy one place per household – so drag the family along.

If you prefer the family out of your kitchen (I get that!), why not get a friend to book the same class? It’s a great way to share an experience for those who are busy or too far away to get together in person.

How does it work?

When you book a place, you will receive a Zoom invite with the login and password details. This gives you access to the live class. Around a week before, you will also receive your e-booklet containing the recipe, the ingredients list and loads of food tips and tricks.

Don’t let the ingredients be a stress; the recipes are designed to contain readily available ingredients and come with 2-3 alternatives for each main ingredient – so you can tailor to your taste.

Since this is virtual, you can be anywhere to join in.  If you have friends or family who live elsewhere who might enjoy joining you – it’s easy.  We have had people join these classes from all over the UK and beyond. Happy to send vouchers too (by post or online) if you think this could be a good gift idea for a foodie friend.

Live Virtual Classes

Speedy classes from my kitchen to yours for the busy chef who would fancies a small but perfectly formed experience AND dinner made!

South Africa

Thursday 27th January – 7.30pm – 8.20pm – £15

I have been lucky enough to visit the South African cape area a few times.  It’s a country rich in fab homegrown, sunshine soaked food & wine – so it’s a great place to start this year’s classes.

We will be making the classic SA dish, Bobotie.  Full of colourful flavours, massively comforting and perfect for winter.  Alongside, we will rustle up a rainbow salad complete with an SA inspired tea dressing.

I can share how to make this plant-based instead if you prefer.

Goa

Thursday 24th Feb – 7.30pm – 8:20pm – £15

The southern Indian cuisine of Goa is a melting pot of cultural and cooking influences.

We will be making a traditional Goan curry. Not hot, but creamy, zesty and full of coastal vibes that just bring a smile. Delicious made with the traditional sea-fresh prawns, or with chicken OR with colourful veg (veggies are a big part of Goan cooking), so it’s one for everyone.

This class featured in the in-person events last term and was a real hit, so I hope the online cooks will love it too. Your kitchen will smell fab!

South Africa

Thursday 3rd Feb – 12:30pm – 1:20pm – £15

Same class as described on the left, but lunchtime.

Sneak in a well-being work break if you are WFH, grab a ‘me hour’ in the day (before spending the evening as a taxi service?!) or simply have a creative foodie break in your day and a relaxing feeling when dinner is ready before 2pm…

My background who, as a non chef looking for something interesting to do in lockdown, has now taken to cooking as a new interest
