Private Classes

Private Classes

If you fancy treating a friend or family member to a creative evening of cooking and laughing, you are in the right place.

We have been running private events in person since we started in 2018 and since 2020, I have also been running private events virtually from my kitchen to yours, so the choice is yours.

In-house is great for those local to me who love being able to learn in their own kitchen (or one locally that I hire).

Virtual events are brilliant for getting together a group of people who can’t be in the same area, are more likely to be able to come if they can simply log in from home.

A private cooking event is a great activity for a family party or a lovely way of having a celebration with friends or colleagues.

Benefits of a private class

If you can’t make our public events, prefer to learn in your own home or would like to invite a group of friends over for an evening of fun & cooking, private classes give you the chance to personalise the experience.

How many to a class?

The private classes in-house are for 1,2 or 4 people.  This gives the space and the time to ask any questions and get help with tricks and techniques as we go. Private kitchen demos are available from 6 to 18 people. Private virtual classes go from 4 people to 24 people. Lots of options…

What dishes will we prepare?

Typically, I will show you how to make seasonal dishes that are great for entertaining family or friends. We choose the dishes together in advance from a selection of ideas that taste great, are easy to prepare and have a wow factor for your table.  As the time is limited, we will not be making stocks from scratch but there will be plenty of ideas to turn a basket of ingredients into a feast.

Do I need to be great in the kitchen to enjoy these classes?

Not at all.  The dishes are selected to be easy to recreate at home and I am there to provide support to anyone wanted to learn new techniques, ask questions or just have a bit of a hand along the way.

How hard will I have to work?!

The evening classes are designed to be relaxed with a mixture of hands on work and demonstrations.  The idea is to get stuck in and try it for yourself, but also have time to chat (enjoy a glass!) and sit and watch dishes being demonstrated for you.

Will we be sitting down to eat during the evening?

We will taste as we go and then you can either stay after the class and enjoy your dishes as a group or each take home the delicious things you have made to share with your family.

What do I need to bring?

For in-house, just bring an apron and some food storage boxes to take your goodies home.  The evening comes with all ingredients and equipment included, plus a personal copy of the recipes you have made. For virtual events, you will get a beautiful booklet packed with ideas, suggestions, the recipes for the evening and your shopping list. You then get the tuition and any help you need along the way to make a delicious meal.

If I don’t want it at my house, is there anywhere else we can do an in-house class?

We are lucky to have a few excellent and friendly venues we know in central Sevenoaks, so if you want to host somewhere away from home, we can find something that works for you.
